CALVERT CATHOLIC SCHOOLS RECOMMENDS DR. JEREMY MARINIS AS NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL

Marinis Brings Extensive Leadership Experience

TIFFIN, OHIO MARCH 29, 2019 – Calvert Catholic Schools Board and Jeremy Marinis have reached an agreement for Marinis to serve as the Head of School for Calvert. Marinis will succeed Mike Kaucher who served as superintendent for 4 years and is retiring at the end of June. Pursuant to Toledo Diocese procedure, the Calvert School Board has recommended to Bishop Daniel Thomas the hiring of Marinis. The Bishop must approve all new Heads of School.

“We are privileged and excited to recommend Jeremy Marinis to serve Calvert Catholic Schools as the Head of School,” said Paul Burtis, chair of the Calvert School Board. “Jeremy’s passion for education, his dynamic leadership at Tiffin University, and his commitment to Calvert and the Tiffin community make him ideal for this position. He is more than capable to lead Calvert.” The position of Head of School replaces the position of superintendent.

Marinis was chosen in an extensive search, conducted by a five-member search committee, composed of Calvert Board and community members representing local church parishes.

Marinis currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Tiffin University and has 15 years of experience in education administration. He has an impressive track record of leadership experience, focusing on strategic planning and executing major initiatives to improve Tiffin University. Marinis has also volunteered at Calvert and his home church parish of St. Mary, Tiffin.

“As an alum of Calvert, and now a proud parent of children who are fourth generation Calvert students, I am honored to be recommended to the position of Head of School.” Marinis said. “I look forward to leading a dynamic group of educators and helping continue the mission of Calvert Catholic Schools.”

Marinis earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Tiffin University, Masters of Arts in Education from the University of Findlay, and Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education from the University of Toledo.

“In Jeremy’s time at Tiffin University, he has proved himself as a dynamic community leader,” said Tiffin University President Lillian Schumacher. “We will miss Dr. Marinis on campus but look forward to the continued positive impact he will have on our community. He will do great things for Tiffin Calvert.”
